DOV BER also denotes STRENGTH. Be strong for those students Chavale and be strong for us that we may gain strength. Am Yisroel Chai.

These are my feelings precisely today. Also, in “War and Remembrance,” there is a vivid rendering of Theriesenstadt. Wouk’s epic two books (winds of war and war and remembrance ) are really good ones to recommend to people who don’t know or who have forgotten history or don’t know some of the specific horrors of the Holocaust, because they are so well written as to be absolute page turners, the pace and the shifting settings keeping you from going mad during the dark chapters. Wouk is really a master storyteller and prose writer. I hold my Jewish family across the world deep in my heart today, and every day especially since October 7th. Many of us are fighting this fight in invisible ways—so as to be more effective, putting our specific talents, be they writing, editing, etc… to use in order to shift the terrible balance of the moment! Thank you for inspiring us to do so!

Never again depends upon never forget, which can also be said to be the duty to bear witness. Your writing is invaluable to that sacred duty. Thank you.

Eve--Thank you! You keep us all going and a tiny bit saner.

You write so beautifully, Eve. You are able to voice many things that we all wish we could speak so fluently and understandably. It is helpful in navigating the doublespeak and gaslighting to which we are subjected every day.
