Thank you for your reporting. My late father, who was liberated from Buchenwald, said that the German doctors and professors brought the Nazis to power, gave intellectual cover for dehumanizing Jews and caused the Holocaust. I never viscerally understood until this last month. Hamas are monsters and Israel will demolish them. Crushing the universities will fall to us. It starts with starving them for money and exposing the monsters on their faculties.

I am having difficulty expressing my disgust about our so-called “Elite Colleges”, the anti-Semitic demonstrators in our great cities and the chicken-hearted main stream media reporters. I am an old man and had friends who survived the Holocaust - now, in my own beloved country I see those who would/have condoned the atrocities in Israel at the hands of Hamas.

I have expressed myself to my national and State political representative and given money to support Israel. Perhaps it is fortunate that I am disabled and not able to act out on my more base feelings.

It is truly embarrassing. I was at the protests outside the Museum of Tolerance, and I simply asked every antizionist protestor if they had ever heard of Kristallnacht (anniversary tomorrow). None -- not one had ever heard of it. They say to never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by stupidity, so I am trying to find the inner strength to see them as just plain simple rather than as purely malicious. I must admit, though, that this is becoming more and more difficult.

Those that don’t learn history are doomed to repeat it. Our schools and universities have not just failed a generation of students, they have been instrumental in the downfall of the civilized world.

I literally cried all night. Before I read this. Just from what I know. I am not Jewish but I’m absolutely with you. I just published a piece about how we must stand with the Jewish people. I’m trying to figure out how to attach it but I’m crying so hard. I live in a neighborhood where I have to walk by a Free Palestine sign just to get a cup of coffee. I live alone and I’m afraid I’ll be attacked when these people - American idiot leftists not a Palestinian among them - read what I’m writing just in support of humanity because Israel is fighting for humanity. But I will but stop or be silenced. Love you and I’ll find a way to send the article. Thank you.

I would love for the videos to be widely shown, but a large part of me fears that the antisemites would find them enjoyable. No one with a scintilla of humanity can even hear your description of what happened and not feel devastated. I am heartbroken that israel and Jews worldwide are threatened by heartless murderers, who don’t give a damn about their own people and have managed to dupe so many into believing they are freedom fighters. Thank you Eve for your courage, your stamina and constancy. You are the voice we need at this time.

If you read the interview with Hamas in the NYT you get the feeling that the massacre is airbrushed out of it all. It is framed as a political issue that needed to be put back on the agenda again. The slaughter was just a necessary tactic to support the long term strategy. Not saying NYT condoned the murder, no, but many will read it that way and act accordingly. It is up to us, a very small group, to keep talking and writing about it.

Eve, I am beyond moved by your perseverance and your clear thinking. I also agree that the videos should be widely shown with permission from the victims’ families. I admire your bravery and I’m sorry that you will now carry those images with you forever. Your witnessing is critically important and appreciated by this Angeleno.

this protest was intended to intimidate, it's cancel culture at its finest. i wonder how many UCLA protestors got extra credit for the antisemitism this evening?

Just *reading* your description of a small part of what you saw in the film is making my stomach lurch as if given a large dose of a powerful emetic. To think, as you suggest, that any of these Hamas-loving lunatics/imbeciles (malicious? ignorant/stupid? either way, they're beyond hideous) would cheer if shown the footage, makes it lurch even more. I fear that even sitting them down, eyes pried open, a la A Clockwork Orange, would have no real effect on them, and they'd all still be Alex.

That Clockwork Orange thought crossed my mind as well and I came to the same conclusion as you, Jodi. They'd still be Alex.

The Palestinian American? protesters would do to American Jews just as Hamas did to the Israelis if they could. The level of indoctrinated raw hate is off the charts even from their "educated" ones.

I would assume there were some Hollywood "names" there, maybe not. Are they going to remain mainly silent like the majority did in the 1930s because of the "box office"?

There was not one single celebrity in attendance.

That is extremely disappointing, especially after all the effort made to bring this to their attention. I commend you for bearing witness and for all the work you do.

Eve, as a child of Holocaust survivors, I heard the stories firsthand what was endured during World War 2. I lost my entire family to the Nazis. To see this in my lifetime now firsthand again the hatred to people to other human beings how could this be happening again? This country other countries need to know that they are next, democracy is at stake.

Thank you for all that you’re doing and helping us survive I wish video video could be shown to the younger generation it needs to be seen.

Bearing witness is the burden we have to endure, again and again. Thank you for another great article. The last paragraph is so spot on.

A big concern I have (on the anniversary of Kristallnacht!) is that as AI becomes more accessible, people will very quickly stop believing the authenticity of those videos. They are always finding ways to hate and lie about the Jews.

My late mother was Nazi refugee and she often said that those who hate us would try again (to kill us all). A Hamas spokesman has said that they want to do October 7th again and again and again. Hamas lit the fuse. Will anyone help those of us who remain put it out?

I simply can’t imagine. And that makes me lucky. I will take that opportunity when the time comes though to honor and never forget the victims. Thank you for your beautiful response to atrocities beyond comprehension. We will live indeed. Am Yisrael Chai.

This one shook me to my core, Eve. You powerfully articulated what we are all seeing and feeling. We are exasperated at the willful ignorance of the masses. We retreat to our echo chambers to feel a sense of community and normalcy and safety. Your words form part of my echo chamber, and I can't get enough. My job is to amplify your message. You are LIGHT in a sea of darkness. Thank you, thank you, thank you! xo
