Where is everyone? How many innocent ppl have to die before protestors who were so quick to don kaffiyas for Palestinians realize there are innocents being murdered in Iran in the name of freedom? Is it bc they can’t blame the Jews and Zionists for this one? Wake up! Murder is murder.
It’s been tough for the Jews, particularly since October 7. The hell has been escalating in Iran since 1979. The bravery it takes to go out on the streets unarmed knowing that the regime could murder you is proportional to the repression of the IRGC. We are all hoping for a speedy resolution that frees the Persian people and brings about a representative government.
Everyone ranted about the Shah and his millions when he left Iran, however Khamenei and other family members have reportedly looted 94 billion. Scott Bessent has confirmed billions in capital flight. A staggering amount considering how much economic, social, and cultural damage these Islamic barbarians have done to the country. The fantasy of socialism has never been realized, only repressive, totalitarian brutality. The IRGC is 120k strong, armed to the teeth, formidable, and a party to the looting of the country. US boots on the ground is not a good option yet. If the president is listening, a 100 percent economic boycott would be a good start. All the kimonos are open. Iran’s neighbors are fearful of a real Arab Spring, and the end to their suffocating rule.
Were you Joan d’arc in a past life? You are a stunning writer. Your soul, fight and grit land on the page so hard it’s a gut punch to this reader. A punch of reality of stirring me to battle. If you were a commander I would follow. And I do where possible.
Iran— yes, same, it feels personal.
Once in a lifetime— exactly! It’s now or never. But now is the time.
I’m more baffled by misguided acquaintances who may have supported Israel but avoid the Iran topic and what I’ve come up with is if they speak in support of the Iranian people that would mean they were wrong about Obama. After all, he delivered a billion dollars cash on an airplane in the middle of the night to the mullahs. He supported their terrorism. And they don’t want to be wrong.
Briliance again. But is America listening...how do we move the needle to help the Iranian people. The Red-Green alliance once again is distracting the government and media is amplifying it, with their ICE protests. FOCUS on #freeiran. We cannot allow it to fail again. It is on us.
Very sadly the cavalry once again is not coming. President Seward, I mean Trump, is far too busy acquiring Alaska, I mean Greenland, for his own narcissistic ego and “legacy,” and taking orders from his Saudi masters not to disturb the shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf, than to help the extraordinarily brave Iranians achieve their freedom. First it was “I am coming if they are killing unarmed protestors.” Never mind that. Then it was “I am now coming if there are executions of prisoners.” Wanna bet? He is much too busy swallowing the massive oil reserves of Venezuela and stealing Greenland from his NAT0 allies who fought and died alongside his nation in Afghanistan than liberate the noble souls of Iran. It is painfully tragic to squander this fading opportunity to free Iran once and for all from the evil Islamist regime that possesses it. But that seems to be where we are headed. Obama Redux. Maybe next time.
Trump hasn’t backed down. So maybe instead of prioritising your Trump bashing, you guys can keep the hope going for the brave souls of Iran. Unless you have access to all the U.S. and Israel intelligence required to make this enormous decision.
My forecast is a weekend strike. It won’t affect the markets as much and it gives the carriers time to get in place. (They’re still headed out on course, by the way)
Eve - I hope you are right on both fronts. First that the theocratic Iranian leadership is nearing an end after 47 years of oppression, and next that with such an end we will see the end of the hypocritical progressive left and its selective global outrage at what it and only it deems oppression.
Sadly though I am not sue I see how the second follows the first. The left has a long history of supporting the Iranian theocratic regime dating back to its deposition of the Shah. And that itself is merely an echo of the left's longstanding inflation with marxism, oppressor/oppressed faux outrage and antisemitism (in fact that is how the Iranian regime recruited the left to its side at the time of the revolution).
The point being that the progressivist left has been around for a very long time and in that time it has built a bulwark of infrastructure through political parties, academia and cultural institutions that I cannot see unraveling simply because the Iranian regime has changed.
Maybe you see a more direct connection and thus a more intertwined unravelling and if so I certainly prefer your view over mine.
From Iran to the left? I knew Qatar was buying the left, but Iran? Wasn't the crash of the rial part of the trigger for the current revolt? I am no expert, so again, I hope you are right!!
Ah I see. Also supporting your point, I just read where the Iranian internet shut down just caused a ton of anti-west social media accounts to 'mysteriously' go dark.
💯. The message these brave Iranians in the streets are sending to our democraties can be summed up by this quote from Pericles : "Freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it." Women, Life, Freedom.
Paging Mark Ruffalo. Paging Cynthia Nixon. Paging Bernie Sanders. Paging any member of The Squad. Paging Javier Bardem. Paging Zohran Mamdani. Paging Hannah Einbinder. Paging Mandy Patinkin. Paging Tilda Swinton. Paging Mark Carney. Paging Anthony Albanese. Paging Keir Starmer. Paging Emmanuel Macron.
Trump just said that Iran is “not planning executions” so he has held off taking any action to support the revolution. The fact, however, is that there have been far in excess of 2400 executions of unarmed protesters on the streets themselves. Trump is just looking for an “off ramp” from his earlier false promise of action being taken to support and protect the brave protesters who are putting their lives on the line. What a disappointment. Crushing
Do you hear any other world leaders offering the Persian people help, David? Other than Israel that is! Anyone at all? How did you know there aren't plans being made behind the scenes by the American President as we speak, David? Trump isn't likely to share any military plans with the public, let alone the squad. Their ilk has already proven they can't be trusted with secrets because they're on the other side. If you haven't noticed this yet that's on you! Any "crushing" facts are to be found entirely with the squad and their crew of craven, bought and paid for, activists. That's what's what's truly disappointing. As a Canadian I can attest to the fact that my own country is part of the captured crowd of silent and craven cowards. Lip service, nothing more.
I do appreciate your comment Suzanne. But Trump promised to support the protesters and now has backed off. I wouid love to be wrong and eat my hat but I think Trump is more absorbed in Greenland and Venezuelan oil these days - and of course his dining room. I am afraid he will just take a pass on this historic opportunity. I may be wrong and there are secret plans going on but do you see any aircraft carriers heading towards Iran? I do not. And they take a long time to get there.
The ICE officer had internal bleeding. You do know that means she could have killed him, right? Please don’t be so ridiculous as to compare ICE with US military forces required for the Middle East.
I am not a fan of ICE if you could not tell. But that was not my point at all. My point was that Trump is getting ready to send troops to Minneapolis to protect ICE but not to Iran as promised to support the protesters who are being slaughtered in the thousands not just one case of internal bleeding.
I don’t have much faith in Senator Graham. He has become a slavish supporter of Trump no matter what the issue may be. My authority is that Trump promised to do something to protect the protesters and has done virtually nothing. The proof is in the pudding. This is the moment to seize and it will soon be lost. The Mullahs will remain in power and punish those who had the courage to take them on.
You are so right. I've made myself sick. Literally( I know the meaning). I've been watching the absolute stupidity of our so called "elites" for too long. READING LOLITA IN TEHRAN should be mandatory reading for high school. I'm waiting.
No it’s because they (the progressive left) s on the side of the mullahs. Always has been
Every time I read you, I'm inspired by your moral clarity. And equally bewildered by the jokers on the other side, the cowards, liars, frauds.

So important that we show our faces this weekend at rallies / marches supporting freedom for Iran.
Jews know how precarious freedom is and it’s important to show that we are not anti Muslim but anti Jew hatred in what ever form that comes in.

The fragility of hubris is a danger to the world. See: the Titanic.
Obama did nothing but prop up this disgusting islamist regime.
Yup. And people loved him!
He was very slick
You are a heroine.

Ok we are on the same side but I pray you are correct. I’m just not feeling it.
If I’m wrong to be optimistic then I will course correct. Currently optimism is mandatory.

Oh I see a direct connection. $$$$$$$$
From Iran to the left? I knew Qatar was buying the left, but Iran? Wasn't the crash of the rial part of the trigger for the current revolt? I am no expert, so again, I hope you are right!!
Oh that’s not what I meant. Qatar’s not loyal to the Islamists if the regime falls.
Ah I see. Also supporting your point, I just read where the Iranian internet shut down just caused a ton of anti-west social media accounts to 'mysteriously' go dark.

Etc., etc.
I’m glad they didn’t show support for Iranian protestors. They should be consistent. They are pro Hamas. Anti Jew and pro Islamist swine of Iran
Bravo, Eve!
Let's all hope for the best.
Still, there are opinions that free Iran does not necessarily mean the end of the hostility towards Israel.
Qatar is still very much in play...

Hold your horses
Ok. If you say so I will.

He is now getting ready to use troops in Minneapolis rather than Teheran.

You don’t have any authority on Trump backing down. Senator Graham has said this morning that these assertions are nonsense.
I don’t have much faith in Senator Graham. He has become a slavish supporter of Trump no matter what the issue may be. There is a carrier on its way. Military operations are all about timing.
Like I said I would be thrilled to be wrong.
Ok. I will do so as well although I did not feel I was being negative just realistic and disappointed.
You are so right. I've made myself sick. Literally( I know the meaning). I've been watching the absolute stupidity of our so called "elites" for too long. READING LOLITA IN TEHRAN should be mandatory reading for high school. I'm waiting.
