Eve, I've been guilty of over-looking the loss of your previous hard-earned career. I think the monstrosities of Oct 7th and its aftermath have caused me to miss the more personal losses to people and that includes you. You have been visiciously attacked for being a lesbian woman and for being Jewish. Im a white hetero Catholic middled- aged lawyer. My personal world is mostly fine but of course my personal world is impacted by the fact we live in a world headed for a new dictatorship and more camps. I have children. I have skin in the game.
The case you quote is terrible. But as a trial lawyer I can tell you there are a million and one injustices because of our system and some people in it. As for juries, we are in the age of decisions based on political belief , not evidence. Dark days ahead.
Why were the faces of the other people outside that house, lying about a stabbed young man, pixelated? Why is their identity being protected? Why weren’t they all arrested and charged with aiding a murder? Henry’s father said it’s unbearable. As a parent my soul would crack. My daughter is going off to college and wants to do a semester in London. I already said no. She’ll not be protected.
Rupert Lowe’s speech regarding the rape gang investigation was another seismic reckoning of what this society is becoming. And the vile politician who stood up and had the audacity to say that white men raped as well, as if that cancels out what was done to those girls. When was the last time you heard of an entire town of white British fathers getting together and raping kids?
How long before massive street violence breaks out?
I am shaking. Where do you go from here. Our consciousness is being gaslit , where ever you look its Animal House.... 'don't believe your eyes'. I wish I had the power to fire those responsible for this murderous travesty, and put them on trial before God, before the world.
I just returned from Paris, a place that has radically changed from how I remember it only 10 years ago. Police sirens heard non-stop , all day long, in the Latin Quarter. So alarming to ones piece of mind. Its a know fact, its a problem. I looked closely into one Police car passing by with the sirens on. I saw a young man alone with a beard. This may not seem connected, but it is. Its the irrational, untethered, ideology of disrespect and hate for humanity. I call Bull Shit on this ideology. I hope the world wakes up fast.

But if you think this is madness, the link below to the Bataclan terrorist is just another example of how degraded UK and EU nations have sunk. The crimes committed by the Bataclan terrorists were of the order of Oct 7th in brutality but the French government covered it up. I guess nothing to see here, move along.

I was the first journalist to interview Eagles of Death Metal when they returned to LA for Kerrang! Magazine. I will never ever forget the look in the eyes of Jesse their frontman, or Josh Homme. Yes - been following the rape/grooming scandal in UK for over a decade. Still no accountability and justice. The absolutely sad fact is that if a society can not protect its most vulnerable, the prevention of antisemitic violence does not stand a chance. Upcoming elections over the next few years in UK, France, Spain and other countries will be a test for the great silent majorities to take back their countries.

Andy Burnham, popular Mayor of Greater Manchester and so called King of the North is standing in order to once more become a member of the House of Commons. If he succeeds and it's a massive gambled, he will depose PM Starmer and become Prime Minister. He would take the country further to the left and become champion of benefits Britain. Like you, I believe there is a silent majority in Britain that want rid of what is now called the soft left as well as Zack Polanski's Stalinists. The problem is this. Are there enough of them and will they all vote tactically for the same right leaning party. It's a big if Jonathan. All eyes and ears will be on Wigan 8n the small hours of June 19th and it will be tight.
Aware of Burnham and Labor intentions but not June timing. It’s a bit like Canada’s Opposition Leader, Pierre Poileviere in reverse. Assuming he wins and knocks out Starmer, does it change timing for required national elections? If not, a further lurch to the left might be just what Reform voters need. The expression “clever by half” would be apropos.
