Once again I am ashamed to be Australian.

Our government has shown no courage nor principles, in fact just the opposite. A recurrent theme since October 7.

Our arts sector has shown no empathy nor support for hundreds of women excluded because of their Jewishness. In fact, just the opposite. A recurrent theme since October 7.

Where is the Emile Zola of Australia to stand up and accuse?

I've been surprised that the Left took up the cause of the Palestinians, but not overly so. It's easy to believe all the bs about how they just want peace but those evil Israelis etc. Even if they throw gay people off buildings; I mean what's a little murder among friends, right?

The Left has always been willing to lift its skirts and show us a glimpse of their hypocrisy. Bill Clinton was a poster boy for "rape culture," but they embraced him and planted a warm wet kiss of forgiveness on his cheek. ("He may be a sexist pig but he's OUR sexist pig.")

But to support the Iranian government who beats and murders women for showing a strand of hair, who rapes women prisoners before they are executed to prevent them from reaching paradise, whose entire culture was an inspiration for The Handmaid's Tale, this is truly astounding.

The level of willing self-delusion, the coldly calculated hypocrisy, the ugly hatred shown by so many of them honestly takes my breath away.

I saw an interview with a woman who, as a young hippie, met US servicemen returning from Vietnam by spitting on them and calling them obscenities. She said she's now truly ashamed of what she did. Maybe a few years from now, long after word has reached us of the torture and execution of the girls on that team, a few of these women who've turned their backs might feel some of the same emotions. Of course by then it will be far too late.

Well said. I also wonder how ashamed people will feel in the future for having been duped so terribly by insane propaganda.

If it truly is “ darkest before the dawn “, can we have the most brilliant sunrise soon? 🌅🦁🙏

Bless you Eve for your courage! Forget the posturing celebrities (Michelle Obama? lol). They don't care. We dont need them.

It is US, real and authentic people (yes, men too) who need to rise out of our safety and comfort and change the world for better (Tikkun Olam -fixing the world) -each and every person who cares should do something for someone else to bring light into this dark world.

Together we can move mountains! Eve, I am following in your footsteps 💪

Brilliant- and I feel the same. May the rest of the soccer players who are on a plane get to safety- or we clearly didn’t do enough.

I previously identified as a centrist Democrat, motivated by the belief that the party championed the underprivileged, anti-racism, and internationalism. However, as the party moved further left, I noticed a shift toward a singular ideological lens that lacks nuance. This led me to align with the more center-right, Clintonian wing of the party.

Over time, I found the party's beliefs became increasingly rigid, leaving no room for complexity. This ideological shift, coupled with instances of unrest, eventually led me to leave the party and become an independent. I have found the discourse surrounding movements like Black Lives Matter and the reactions to the events of October 7th to be particularly troubling. The reductive categorization of complex geopolitical and racial identities ignores the diversity within Israel and the history of Jewish communities driven from Arab nations.

In my view, the current trajectory of the far left—which often categorizes people solely by race rather than character or merit—poses a significant threat to our collective rights and independence. As a Jew, I increasingly feel that the future of Western democracy is bleak, and I foresee a time when much of the diaspora may look to Eretz Yisrael as the final bastion of freedom and independent thought.

Your words should be read by all. What happened to AU? What happened to feminism?

Great article about a terrible situation. What has happened to Australia? They used to have serious, concerned governments and politicians. Now much less so. Just found out that the PM Albanese is the 1/2 brother of the UN rapporteur Albanese. Qui se ressemble, s’assemble.

Eve Barlow's avatar

They are not related.

Thank you for the correction.

Regarding the Albanese family, I am sure that is a bit of disinformation occurring there. But he does deserve the baton. Until December 14 and the Bondi terrorist attack his government supported the Arab Palestinians agenda. And he is famously caught on camera supporting the Arafat campaign in his student years.

Not sure what you mean by disinformation. They both have the same father

Like England, Australia has islamism so embedded in their country and politics that they are unable to enforce their own laws or protect their own values. They know what will happen if they try.

Yes, isn't it strange? Not a word of support for those brave women from the likes of Grace Tame, Clementine Ford, etc. Why, it's almost as if they don't really care about women's rights, and that they really only care with demonizing Jews and the West in general................

As for Judith Butler's quote about Hamas and Hezbollah, I wonder how she'd like it if she was a resident of Gaza City, or the Dahieh section of Beirut? Her comment is absolutely batsh-t crazy.
