God I love you. That last clip was perfect. Thanks for introducing the incomparable badass Natasha Hausdorff. She fucking rocks. So this was one of my favorites EB. I am really in a period of pride right now. Proud of Israel’s mettle and toughness and hoping that us Jews in the west can take your lead and toughen up. If Israelis can send 18yo to go fight these animals we can handle some taunts and a little fear. I am not a victim nor will I be cowed by a bunch of woke brain dead children or imported Nazi’s. We are the diaspora and are an equal part of this fight. We can take it. It’s our job for the people on the front lines. Thank you as always. I love that I’m up at 3:34 to get your late post. I think I’m often first in on the comments. 🤍

ישמך אלהים כשרה רבקה רחל ולאה. יברכך יהוה וישמרך. יאר יהוה פניו אליך ויחנך. ישא יהוה פניו וישם לך שלום

Couldn’t think of a better way to thank you than with a blessing. Carry on you warrior queen! 😘

"Israel is the battered woman of the world."

In the movie Enough, what self defense system does Jennifer Lopez learn to protect herself against the violent abuse of her scumbag husband? Krav Maga ("contact combat" in Hebrew), an Israeli martial art developed in the 1940s as Jews from around the world returned to their ancestral home and had to fight for it. Krav is taught to all IDF recruits, and has been commercialized as a self defense system for civilians in countries across the globe. Relative to other martial arts, it is simple, brutal, and effective--all essential elements against an enemy who may strike, stab, or shoot you for just walking down the street (in Jerusalem, Brooklyn, Tower Hamlets).

The "battered woman" is often failed on all fronts, from authorities sworn to protect and defend, to friends and family from who she seeks help, to her own conscience. All apply to Israel; but Israel, like JLo, can defend herself. Scumbags happen: they are not to be defended, rationalized, or regretted. They are to be dealt with. I recommend Enough and Krav Maga to those who haven't tried either.

Every day Eve posts about the terrible situation faced by Israel and by Jews worldwide, I end up with a big smile on my face. I smile because Eve hits every note with perfect pitch. She clearly writes the thoughts I have in my mind, and offers points of view I hadn't even considered.

May the IDF keep hunting and cleanse Gaza of Hamas for the sake of all.

Thank you, Eve, for your ongoing battle against the seemingly irresistible tide of anti-Israel/anti-Semitic hate.

Funny how the Hamas "freedom fighters", heros of the Palestinenian people that they are, somehow never managed to get around to building any bomb shelters for all of those innocent women and children they're always going on about, despite the fact that they've burrowing around under Gaza for years like a bunch of coked out groundhogs..

I certainly have no disagreement about the deep-rooted anti-Semitic rhetoric and actions we are seeing.

Israel and the Jewish people in general are denigrated as part of the capitalist system. Never mind the long history of Jewish social activism! Forget the palpable benefits of capitalism for the poor (as well as the wealthy)! Banks are all run by those nasty Jews! Poor people are better off being poor in an autocratic socialist state than having a higher standard of living, healthcare, education and social freedom in a democratic capitalist one!

For some bizarre reasons of human reasoning and selfishness we need scapegoats, and the chosen tribes of Israel make excellent ones. They’re in a minority, work hard and with teamwork, offer moral truths, and traditionally (in western countries) have not fought back. Anti-capitalists can blame them for daring to embrace personal and social responsibility as a way of life; capitalists can use them as the whipping boy to distract from capitalism’s excesses; and yet those pesky Jews always seem to come back for more!

The anti-Semitism of the two camps are differently motivated, but but leave Jews in the middle of a political/social battle. This said, there are actually many of us Gentiles who deeply respect our Jewish brethren, and we differ in political outlooks. Please don’t tar us all with the same brush!

To further your metaphor of the abused woman, we Jewish folk were so goddamn grateful for the few crumbs of support thrown our way in the early days of this catastrophe. “Oh, THANK YOU, London/Paris/San Francisco for putting up blue and white lights!” never minding these cities have done jack to protect Jews over the years. How have we allowed our standards of allyship to fall so low?
