It's not just the music industry. Certainly the software industry is just as bad, in its own way. I suspect all industries are just as bad. Rape culture is our culture.

That said, I've only been raped by one man, an ex-husband who raped me repeatedly and legally before I found a way to leave, back when I was in my 20s, back in the '80s when it was part of a wife's job to be raped and to damned well enjoy it if that's what her husband wanted to do with her. Thereafter, I was never raped again. Rape is forever though; it took me 20 years to trust again. In jobs, in whatever field I entered, I was always only allowed to do the work that men didn't want to do, the unglamorous work supporting them or fixing their mistakes. This ended when I had enough and quit work in 2017, not so long ago. They told me when I started working in the '80s that we were liberated and didn't need feminism, which could not have been farther from the truth.

Then 10/7/23 happened and I learned that feminists don't consider Jewish women human, which means we're on our own. We only have each other, in a very hostile culture that only promises to get worse.
