Sadly, I think their lives HAVE gotten better. They now have a sense of moral superiority (even though they couldn't have it more backwards if they tried). They have a sense of purpose; a sense of belonging; something to talk about; something to do. This is their new religion - the Church of 'Free Palestine'. They're evangelical about it. Facts and ethics don't matter. Doubts can be dispelled with misinformation or swept under the carpet. All that matters is their beliefs and sense of community.
I never thought I'd see a shit show like this in my lifetime. I didn't think it was possible. I stupidly thought we were too educated and evolved for that at this point in history. Now, I totally understand exactly how the Holocaust happened - and what my Holocaust-surviving grandparents were on about when they tried to explain it to me.
Sadly, the allegedly educated and progressive-minded in our midst never cease to amaze me with how ignorant and backward they can be. Supporting Hamas and Hezbollah is like setting the clocks back to the 7th century. I suspect that 99% of the so-called Palestinian supporters were to be suddenly transported to Hamasville or Hezbollahville, they would be in shock, that is, if they survived the first 24 hours and if they did, they'd be trying to get their much-hated western government to move mountains to bring them home. Such hypocrites.
There is nothing unsuccessful minorities hate more than a successful minority.
Jews and Asians share an embrace of education, family ties, and entrepreneurship. Because of that, they are more successful than most, which runs in sharp contrast to the gospel of envy and jealousy that preaches that minorities cannot be successful because of institutional prejudice/racism/discrimination, to which Jews and Asians have said, "Yeah, right. Hold my beer".
Israel is a modern, successful, wealthy, and technologically advanced country in the middle of a corrupt, ineffectual region still mired in the 15th century. Israel is an in-your-face example to Arab youth of what could be if they weren't stuck with the boot of moldering mullahs and religious fanaticism on their necks.
I long ago cancelled my NYT subscription. Knew I wouldn’t be able to stomach the Coates interviews, so just read about them. Don’t read the British papers (except for the guilty pleasure of sometimes perusing the Daily Mail entertainment stuff). And I had watched and appreciated Bill Maher. But Elica Le Bon was a revelation.🔥 🔥 🔥 What an ally!

Sadly, I am old and disabled and can only donate to causes I support. I only watch official Israeli news channels for updates, and it is refreshing to see Netanyahu pretty much ignore his so-called allies, who are, in fact, cowardly appeasers to Iran. He is getting the job done and I hope he continues on this course. If he does, I believe Israel will achieve its goals.
No one really knows of course (independent polls aren’t available in Iran) but there is definitely some opposition to the Ayatollas. You see women protesting without their mandatory hijabs (and getting arrested for it). Opinions on Israel: unknown.
