Bravo. I just finished a book about Trotsky. He was another charismatic man, responsible for the death of many who followed him as one would follow a god. The DSA, Mamdani, many in the DSA, LGBT... groups, "liberal, "progressive" movements are so similar. Maybe they truly believe themselves as doing what is "right and honorable" but they are evil because the cure is never hate, no matter how you try to disguise it. Never be willing to overlook or excuse hate. Your finger may be pointing to the other, but the other 4 are pointing to you.
A very minor quibble, but: one finger points at those you accuse, but three are pointing back at you and the the thumb points skyward to remind you to repent of the hate in your heart.
I reiterate my earlier comment: I would happily attend Mamdani’s funeral! It is inconceivable to me that any Jewish person would even remotely consider voting for him!
Other DSA members won primaries in NYC over democrats who have been in office for years. When I mention this to my Dem friends, they never heard of it. Read it here in The Free Press:
If these people win, Mamdani may turn out to be the least of our troubles, which is terrifying. And chances are they will because the “blue no matter who” is strong in NYC. And after having to listen to ten years of people melting down over Trump, I’m not hearing a peep out of lifelong Democrats to expel these people from the party.

Thanks for this post Eve. Today during Tisha bAv mincha services at our congregation the Cantor read a list of destructive events that traditionally took place on the 9th of Av. I hope that Mamdani's video will not be on any future list. More to the point, I look back at for example Farrakhan's blatant antisemitism and the mainstream Jewish organizations not acting to confront that. I remember thinking at the time that this will come back to us...
Knowing, facing and fighting this now obviously existential threat, highlights the bravery of your continuing to periodically reach out to those who cut you off who’ve (consciously or unconsciously) betrayed you (and us), as you did with Let’s Talk. Leaving the door open a crack that way, refusing to dehumanize others, is emotionally brave and a powerful way to fight evil. So, as you say, is telling our stories

I don’t know if it’s brave or if it’s just born of a need to stay human.
