Paul Kessler and his wife Cheryl were in Westlake yesterday. They were carrying Israeli flags, peacefully. Paul was 69-years-old. Paul was killed. He was attacked by a person marching for Free Palestine, who pummelled his head with a loudspeaker. A “peace” advocate for “Palestine” killed an elderly Jewish man in broad daylight and in cold blood on a Sunday with a sea of bystanders around, in the middle of Los Angeles.
Here is Paul moments before he was murdered.
I cannot think of a clearer example of “words as violence” than being maimed to death by a megaphone. STILL these are “peace” marches, right? STILL “ceasefire now” is a moral position, yeh? I wasn’t aware that it was OK for pacifists to kill civilians while advocating for ceasefires. That doesn’t really add up to me. I’d make for a bad pacifist.
You know, history plays this amazing trick over and over again where it demands that Jews can never be victims while victimizing Jews in full view. Antisemitism is a sadistic pleasure. If it weren't for Jews surviving there would never be accountability. But caveat emptor: we always survive.
For millennia, crusaders, colonialists and power-hungry psychopaths have dehumanized Jews to justify erasing us from society. We're the obstacle standing in the way of whatever egomaniacal trip they're on. Today's crusaders are the same, except they call us Zionists, because they're cowards.
One day they’ll all wake up and realize they’ve been groomed by terrorists. Including this Black fascist in NYC, who attacks a Jew in broad daylight and then claims audaciously to be the victim of an assault. Excellent terrorist, she/he/they/it makes:
This person’s got a kink and it doesn’t involve the chains and handcuff accessories around their waist. “The whole thing is that…” says their friend, who fails to finish the thought. Let me oblige: the whole thing is one word – antisemitism.
BLM was clearly a great thing. It inverted racism, and empowered Black people to attack anyone in sight because reparations mean doing whatever the fuck you want without consequences, apparently. Let’s be honest: we now have ourselves quite a large problem that no person in a position of power seems prepared to acknowledge.
Hold please, while I gather this video featuring the brains of Britain outside the Royal Courts of Justice today.
Such a powerful quote I need to write it down:
"Actually to be honest it really can't be classed as a prison because the Palestinians who are there they must have done something wrong to be in a prison. They are hostages. It is a concentration camp. According to the Oxford dictionary…"
Dang, inspiring stuff. I am not usually this person but… where is the command of the King’s English? How is this a representation of Britain? Let me remind you that some of the people who organize these marches have direct links to terror attacks that happened in the UK. In 2017, fundamentalist Islamic terrorists bombed the MEN Arena at an Ariana Grande concert. 22 people died, including kids. Have the oridinary people of Britain all forgotten? Outside on their streets are people who would call that an act of resistance. Those are OUR kids who died in that attack. Hamas has made fools of them all, tugging at their emotional heartstrings with AI images of dead Palestinian babies, ie war porn. They’re so gullible they’ve forgotten about their own kids’ safety in this new world order. Our kids aren’t safe in Britain while “liberal” parents instead fantasize about the murder of children whose death tolls are fabricated by the “Gaza Ministry of Health” (aka Hamas).
Here’s another scene that is not British. In Scotland this morning, at Edinurgh Waverley train station, a war veteran was coerced by a massive crowd to pack up his stall selling poppies for the day. This is proof positive of an attack on the core identity of the West itself.
There is not a single educator, doctor, lawyer, or otherwise who will be taken seriously after this moment has passed, because they have all overplayed their hands. All of them are advancing a terrorist cause in plain sight with full pride and conscience and utter conviction that this is the morally correct thing to do, because whatever you believe, and whoever you are, we all agree and unite in the most unanimous thought of all: that Israel is the worst. The Worst. Israel is to blame for everything. Israel sunk the Titanic. Israel killed the dinosaurs. Israel shot Kurt Cobain!
Not one Hamasnik will survive this moment. Forevermore, we will know these people by what they supported, and for the reasons they supported it. They supported death to the Jews because it was cool again, and it scored them points, and they got to call it by another name. These are soulless entities, concerned only with their own image, their own ego, their own gain. When people show you who they are, listen. And walk the hell away.
The work of anyone who participated in this will be tarnished. Take the feminists who are currently turning a blind eye or fully endorsing rape, necrophilia and pedophilia because they want to “Free Palestine by any means necessary”. Any feminist who has ever advocated for a survivor or victim will forever ruin their lifelong credibility (and will thus endanger all future victims and survivors) by standing shoulder to shoulder with Hamas. Nobody will believe them ever again.
I know it’s painful for so many to lose friends, but think of it as an investment in your own future. They’ll drag you down with them, to the bottom of the sewers of depravity where children are forced to live without genders and violence against women is fine if everyone’s getting rich off dirty Arab money.
In 1939 there were 10 million Jews in Europe and 1 million Muslims. In 2023 there are 5 million Jews in Europe and 52 million Muslims [Source: Pew Research, IJESD]. This is a popularity contest and if you don’t agree that the popular guys are the underdogs, then you will be beaten to death with a megaphone.
These people are all bystanders in a genocide that already happened. We want a ceasefire too, once our hostages are returned. Once Hamas is obliterated.
They can’t accept that Jewish people are ever victims.
They can’t accept that Israel is fighting a war it doesn’t want to fight.
They can’t accept that Hamas control Gaza and put their own people in danger.
They can’t accept that the Arab world abandoned Palestinians.
They can’t accept Jewish survival.
We see them. Antisemites.
But hey here’s the good news. We’re not alone. Let’s spend some time acknowledging the righteous gentiles who walk among us, who see the writing on the wall, whose hearts are also shattering.
We go out into the world as Jews with good faith. We are told not to take people at face value, but many of us try. I love my non-Jewish family. The words “goyim” and/or “shikse” have always made me feel uncomfortable. I never wanted to bestow what felt to me like a slur on those I share a world with. I have treasured the perspective I have gained from wonderful relationships and friendships with those who have had totally different life stories from mine. I have shared some of the greatest intimacies with non-Jewish people. I’ve locked eyes, held and been held, cooked meals, sung music, built ideas, shared epiphanies, etc, etc with many non-Jews. The human condition necessitates connections that defy everything that would set us apart from one another. And yet, the truest heartbreak comes with the betrayals of those who would choose to lie that they ever shared any of these beautiful things with a Jew at all. That’s what you are to them now: a Jew.
This betrayal only makes the righteousness of the allied gentile even brighter. I have seen pictures in recent days of non-Jews who have put mezuzahs on their doors as a display of solidarity for their Jewish neighbors. To us, that feels like taking a very certain bullet. As so many Jews have questioned whether to remove their mezuzot from doorways, non-Jews are not afraid of those who would target them for their brave recognition of our humanity.
The righteous gentiles in my life are among the most steadfast people I will ever know. I do not know how to ever repay them or thank them for the courage and the self-sacrifice that they have chosen for no other reason than because it is the right thing to do. They are people of the utmost integrity. They are heroes. They are beacons of hope in a world of despair. The hope they inspire in me is incalculable and life-rendering. It is a marker of deep empathy for our pain; something only the most precious of souls are able to defer to, given the types of horrors we have endured. It is a marker of the good that does exist. The good does exist. They are proof of it. My righteous gentiles are so much of my why. They will never fully understand why either.
Which brings me to the staggering bravery of the people of Iran, who are joining us in arms against an evil they have first-hand experience of. Lily Moo, an Iranian activist, spoke at a vigil held by Jewish people in London yesterday. Thank you to Lily.
Ma hameh bahamim 🫶🏽 We are all together.
[This is an edited an updated version of this post. In the original version an image was shared of another man that was not Paul, and it was reported that Paul was 65, when he was in fact 69-years-old].
Eve--I met you yesterday in Vancouver and less than 24 hours later, your mighty sword is giving your readers both shock and comfort. We should not be shocked; we’ve been to this dance before. But there’s no denying that to see our expat Iranian brothers and sisters standing beside us and those righteous gentiles affixing mezuzahs to their doorposts at great peril to themselves bring me great comfort. Of course, my prayers for their safety parallels my prayers for my people to weather this tempest and hold steadfast to our Jewish values. I still believe in our ability to shine and spread light.
May the memory of Paul Kessler, z’l, bring comfort and blessings to his family.
Your comment on Jews and Muslims in Europe reminds me of the late Karl Lagerfeld who in 2017 said that ‘you cannot kill millions of Jews and replace them with their worst enemies’. Of course he sparked outrage, but he was right.
