The above image is an image of ethnic cleansing. Is it happening in “Palestine”? No, it’s happening in Israel.
Greetings fellow Zionists and defenders of the "Zionist entity". Your efforts over the past decade as you’ve fought propaganda and disinformation, hate speech and discrimination, have come at a heavy price while battling in the trenches of the online resistance. This is the moment we trained for. Our digital defense is small but strong. You are all Davids.
The days for open season on the Jewish people are numbered. Online for years, it is the internet that has been weaponized against the Jews to diminish our equal footing in society. I wrote about this in 2021 for Tablet in an article titled “The Social Media Pogrom”:
The Tower of Babel that is Twitter is a place where disparate conversations cannot coexist, where oppositions cannot find common ground, and where dissenters must be monitored and policed by potentially millions of watchful users.
When the world wide web - or the information super highway, as it was known in the ‘90s (not so catchy) – became a household entity, we were all duped into believing that the internet was going to democratize information. But instead, the internet over decades would not so much democratize information as it would disempower the institutions that had checks and balances in place to ensure information was correctly and responsibly disseminated. Institutions such as mainstream media, schools and universities, the medical and legal professions, the police, the judicial system, etc etc.
But things really took a turn for the end-of-days when social media came along. Ever since Mark Zuckerberg, unfortunately one of ours, put together a website that he used to rank and rate girls at Harvard University (it was originally called The Facebook), we really started giving power away to anyone for free. Divvying up influence and fake authority to any human (sometimes non-human) who could somehow, usually by being the opposite of intelligent, drum up a large following on a social media site. In the last almost 20 years, Facebook has met competition from Twitter (now X), Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and Telegram. And on all these websites, it’s not what information you share that matters, but how many people you engage with that information.
Anyway, without writing a whole dissertation on social media and the way it has fundamentally changed societal structures, and slammed our former figures of authority up against a wall, I want to cut to the chase here re: the Jews. The internet has been used as a tool to take power away from Jews, or perceived power. It has been used to incite mobs to smear Jews, to discredit Jews, to dismiss and drop Jews. It has been used to dehumaize and disenfranchise Jews. The Jewish voice is so small online as to almost sometimes be non-existent. #Jewishprivilege trends higher regularly than the number of Jews that exist to challenge it.
However, I don’t want you to be disheartened by this. And this is why. Here’s what I ask you to consider. What society ever benefited from successfully ridding itself of its Jews? The internet is a new society. And the internet is a cesspit of disinformation, immorality, bullying, harassment, death threats, non-consensual pornography, misogyny, racism and child abuse. That may not all be directly linked to the lack of a large Jewish presence in among the rabble. But it does make the internet a profoundly bad place. The internet is a dishonest place; it’s a place that doesn’t even recognize bad, because bad is profitable. Bad is rebranded as good. Bad sells. Hate speech performs well online. Conspiracy theories are mega hits with keyboard addicts. And terrorism drives up traffic.
This war that wages in the Middle East should be a very simple narrative. There is good and there is evil. Hamas is evil. If we don't obliterate Hamas, they will continue to plan a genocide on Jewish people and the Jewish state. (Twitter/Instagram users, if you disagree with me, please un-follow me and go to hell.) And yet it’s not a simple narrative online, because online everything must be a “nuanced” hot take. Online everyone is chasing hits, follows, likes and retweets, and figuring out how to maximise their own brand without even contemplating for a single moment how that might disaffect the real life society outside their own windows. I un-followed a ton of depraved people working in media today who are quite frankly demented about the nightmare they are ushering into being, while retweeting ISIS rhetoric and virtually virtue signalling digital Heil Hitlers. They go as far as to argue that Hamas are being humanitarian by releasing two elderly female hostages. Why did Hamas have grandmothers in the first place? Sure guys… why don’t we give @Hamas_Official a blue tick though. They earned it.
Readers, I’m done with the online mob. I am absolutely done with having my life dictated, limited, punished, and subjected to the opinions of a power-hungry mob of unedcated, ill-informed, prejudiced, spiteful, bored, twisted, and self-serving assholes. I will not be pushed to walk the plank and plunge to the depths of nothingness because a baying crowd of morons drowned out common sense with poop jokes and miGraIne-iNduCIng “quote-tweets”. I will not cower to the lunacy of collective Instagram ideology because our universities, our legal institutions, our non-profits, our legacy media and our politicians decided to sell their souls. If you can’t beat them join them, perhaps. But at what cost did they bend? At the cost of our civilization?
It’s time to wake up from woke. Anyone who continues to argue that the woke social media revolution is about safeguarding minorities is repugnant. It is not about helping real victims. It never has been. It’s about redistributing power and popularity. The mob have the power now, and if you revolt against them, you will be punished. You will be punished in the way they celebrate punishment. You will be terrorised, because terrorising the enemy is now justified. Didn’t you know that the civilians of Israel deserved to be burned and raped and beheaded, according to the online woke mob? That is what you get for disobeying the mob. The mob who have aligned themselves with terrorists.
Here’s what I suggest. While Israel is going to continue its war against Hamas in Gaza, and potentially Hezbollah in the North, we have a job to do in the Diaspora and in the anals of these social media sites. We are also at war. We have to say no, and we have to say it now. We have to hit back. We have to show these clown institutions that run on nothing but greed and moral cowardice that we won’t demand a seat at their table any more if what they choose to do is to continue to be at the behest of whatever keyboard monkeys are clapping out on their iPhone screens. We will take names and we will hold them accountable. We will no longer support the places that would hold rallies for people to dance on our graves.
Why are we funding these academic institutions? Why are our names still on their lecture halls and library buildings? Why are we quiet while our industry peers are signing letters to encourage a ceasefire? Why are we participating in DEI training at our businesses for every minority in our respective countries apart from the Jews, who are oddly the most hate-crimed of all minorities? Why are we letting the media get away with publishing propaganda straight out of the tunnels of Gaza?
Why? I’m sick of asking why. I’m not asking now.
We’re not doing any of it any more. We’re a tribe of just 16 million, but we’re right, and we know we’re right. There is power in dissent. There is power in drawing lines. There is power in no longer negotiating with people who don’t understand the difference between moral and immoral.
So I have a favor to ask. Instaed of feeling hopeless, I want you to remember that you are important and that you may not have power, but you have might. What can you do to resist this obscenity? What can you do to buck the trend? What can you do to show them who you are? What are you investing in and why? We are millions strong. It’s the hour to straighten our spines. It’s time for us to put our whole back into it.
I just subscribed and I’m sharing. I’m not Jewish but I’ve always been in solidarity with the Jewish people, now more than ever. I’m about to publish some stuff of my own because I believe that if non-Jews are silent in the face of this evil... we’ve already seen that movie. I love your writing Eve and how brave you are. I’ve been there with the cereal though my version is hard boiled eggs. I don’t have much but I want to support your work. Love, April
Funny, I was thinking about this the other day. I had not been posting on Twitter for a while, but since the October massacre, I have been pinging every media site and famous person who suggests Jews are at fault or deserve blame. Heck, some,of those famous people have blocked me, because I made them so upset..,me, who only has like 40 followers, lol. It means all,of us together can make an impact. So I keep going. We all should. Overwhelm them
